What I’m reading right now

Okay, maybe “right now” is a bit misleading, so here’s a list of books that I’m part way through and actually need to finish.

  • Tekstura: Russian essays on visual culture (Alla Efimova & Lev Manovich)
  • Evidence: the art of Candy Jernigan (Chuck Close/Candy Jernigan)
  • Curiosa: celebrity relics, historical fossils and other metamorphic rubbish (Barton Lidice Benes)
  • A Short History of the Liberal Party 1900-92 (Chris Cook)
  • On Being A Photographer: a practical guide (David Hurn/Bill Jay)
  • J. Ramsay MacDonald (Austen Morgan)
  • Labyrinths (Jorges Luis Borges)
  • The Interrogative Mood: A Novel? (Padgett Powell)
  • Britain 1890-1939 (Rosemary Rees)
  • 100 Artists’ Manifestoes: From the Futurists to the Stuckists (Alex Danchev)
  • The Dynamics of Creation (Anthony Storr)
  • The Necessity of Art: A Marxist Approach (Ernst Fischer)
  • The Psychopath Test (Jon Ronson)
  • Objects (Martin Parr)

There’s probably even  more, but I think that list is plenty long enough now…

  1. quite a list, any recommendations?

    • All of them?! Okay, maybe not the stuff about the Liberal Party or JRMacDonald, but it’s all good!
